Homme Home Auxiliary

The members of the Homme Home Auxiliary serve a critical function in linking our communities, our congregations, and our residents to each other. Over the last 4 decades the Auxiliary has taken a leadership position in creating and sponsoring special events that add the “extra” to the lives of the residents of Homme. Membership in the Auxiliary is open to any and all individuals and organizations. Membership dues go towards charitable programs and events sponsored throughout the year, including the Annual Strawberry Festival held in June, Resident Christmas parties, birthday parties, and other similar events.

Membership in the Homme Auxiliary benefits the residents of the Homme Home of Wittenberg and Forest Park Village by providing support for programs including resident Christmas gifts, daily and weekly newspapers and magazines, entertainment, pet therapy, and other programs and events which enhance the quality of life for our residents. This year’s membership will also bring more tangible benefits for our members, which include a 10% discount at the Alpha House Resale Shop, one free lunch per member at the Strawberry Festival, and an invitation to the Homme Family Picnic on September 1st.

The Artistry of Quilting:

Quilts and quilting have been a long part of the Homme Home of Wittenberg. The art of quilting was taught to the young girls who lived at Homme Old Folks and Orphans Home by the elderly women who shared that home as well. The quilts kept Homme residents warm on those cold winter nights.

This activity still sets apart the Homme Home Auxiliary, as its history of making hand crafted quilts continues. For decades these treasured heirlooms have served to “warm the hearts” of many, and are widely recognized as a “signature” of the Homme Home of Wittenberg.
Crafted in a variety of sizes, these one of a kind works of art are a tangible connection to the Homme Ministry and through the efforts of our volunteer quilters, sale of these items supports the Auxiliary’s many programs. Alpha House Resale Shop

Located at 701 South Webb Street in downtown Wittenberg Wisconsin, Alpha House Resale Shop presents a unique opportunity for community members to support the Resident Benevolence Program by either making a tax-deductible donation of some unneeded item or by making a purchase of a newly found treasure.

Alpha House is run strictly by volunteers and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Plan your next shopping trip to Alpha House Resale Shop where bargains abound. For further information call 715-253-3012.
